Two particular sets of skills
A filmmaker’s eye for the story, law enforcement’s eye for the truth
Jeremy Newberger
An award-winning documentary filmmaker whose work has been shown at fests like Tribeca and Sundance. On the back of this, he’s built a social media platform that reaches millions. His background in documentary storytelling and production shows in the way he finds the human story at the center of every case.
A team from both worlds
Half our team comes from film, half from the field: former law enforcement officers and legal investigators who worked cases like yours before they worked on films about them. One world knows how to hold an audience. The other knows what holds up under scrutiny.
Why it works
Most legal video is made by people who only know one half of the problem. Our films are directed by a documentary filmmaker who has spent a career telling true stories that hold an audience, and built with investigators who spent theirs examining incidents like the one in your file. One side knows how to make an audience understand and feel it. The other knows how to find what matters in a case.
That combination is Genesis.
Research first
We read the whole file. The film is built from the record, not around it.
Authenticity
Real voices, real locations. Dignity over pathos: We focus on what someone did, not how sad it is.
Cinematic quality
Shot and cut to television standard, because a film that looks cheap argues against you.
